  4.     Whose life is it anyway? Randall Dale Adams, released from a
  5. Texas prison in March, wants the courts to decide. When he was set
  6. free after serving 12 1/2 years, it was largely owing to Errol
  7. Morris, whose movie The Thin Blue Line uncovered exonerating
  8. evidence. Adams sold the rights for $10 in 1986, and though still
  9. grateful to the filmmaker, is suing to determine who owns them now.
  10. "Am I indentured to Morris for the rest of my life?" he asks. The
  11. bespectacled Morris denies blocking Adams from future profits. And
  12. the film is no Batman. Laments Morris: "I'm still paying off
  13. bills."
